Description
I could have called this "when worlds collide".....but that would only make sense after / if you read this. As many will know I work in Ten Pin Bowling, after 20+ years the only post I haven't held is 'Snack Bar Staff', only because it never appealed to me. I started as a cleaner and ended up an Assistant Center Manager. For the time being I have returned to my favourite job as a Lane Tech. After six years of valiant / violent service our pins were worn out, given their importance to the business, it's amazing how hard it was to get the owner to replace them. However in the end we got 96 boxes (960 pins) brand new and shiny. Of course this leaves us with 960 'retired' pins boxed up in the corridor outside the techs room. People occasionally ask for a pin, yours for £2...if they're having a Birthday or works do FREE. The pile still doesn't go down too fast though. Several years ago I hit upon an idea for old pins, several days ago somebody found out and they had a request. I'm not sure what the strict definition is but I think this counts as 'art', of a sort.....I'll let you decide. It all starts with taking the battered and bruised pins ( well 4 of them in this case ) home. They get a nice hot bath and a rub down with wire wool ( they enjoy it, honestly ), after drying with a soft towel they get a coat of white acrylic paint ( maybe 2 ) and then.............
(NOT SURE IF THE BATH SCENE WARRANTS A NUDITY TAG ? IF ANYONE IS OFFENDED........YOU'RE AS DAFT AS ME :-)

Hiya Neil. Interesting... One truly does not realize the upkeep that is involved in our pass times, so that we can keep enjoying them. You are indeed a dedicated man my friend, koodos. Back from my 2nd chemo consolidation, a bit tired but in good spirits, so I will be spending some time at home for now, Well done

That's good news mate, good to have you back onboard. Take it easy and look after yourself....

You can almost see the pin smile in the bubble bath. Wonderful way to recycle the old pins.

You are probably ok on the nudity tag as the bubbles are covering most of the 'adult bits' lol. Good work these mate, sometimes being higher up the ladder isn't as much fun as working on ground level even if the money is better :)

Too true mate !!
