Description
Captured 4/3/14, looking west in the late afternoon, from the parking lot of my medical building, located off of Katella Avenue in beautiful Los Alamitos, California.
This was the frontal edge, believe it or not, of an impending storm of instability showers, a leftover from a passing front that was essentially nonproductive. So, although short lived, we did get rain out of this one.
Farvel.

Sky captures have so much possibilities,,constant change. This is a lovely moment

The darker heavy parts of this cloud look like they will be productive, but it's the mackerel bits over by the sun that catch my attention, with their wispy shapes and movement. Wonderful capture, Harry!

clouds in the local sky, say more than weather reports from television or internet ... their opinions correspond to a few hectares of area and above your head a few tens of meters!

Yeah you do have stunning skies there (rob), I just wish they would part with some of their pent-up moisture, for all of you. A dramatic threatening capture, with heavy darkness in the right bottom portion, and it all breaks into whites in the opposite portion, and then breaks into deep blue sky. Pieces like these, without any ground imagery to ground us, are almost abstract, even though these are clearly heavy clouds. And you have to deal with the shot for its wholly visual elements. You've gotten a natural movement from heavy lower right to sterling, open upper left. With all that texture in between. Strong balance with a subject material that defies balance. As I've said before, if we saw clouds like these, we'd be drenched. Sorry we can't send some of the drenching your way...A strong threatening capture.
