Description

Apparently, just after Christmas, a car was stolen and dumped in the river. As the river was in flood at the time, and for the three months after, the police had only just been able to locate it on the river bed. They used a floatation bag to bring it to the surface and towed it into the lock cut where it was winched onto the back of a lorry to be taken away. Sadly, work prevented me from watching the whole process but I did get a shot of it being lifted on to the lorry. It was a most interesting operation due to the overhanging trees. :-) ------------------------------------------ Original Photograph 17 Apr 2014
