Description
It is known, that I photograph while my hubby is driving in the landscape. One of the shots had this farm in it, but I had to crop it and when cropped it wasnt very clear, so I used a homemade edge filter on it. You can see it amongst alot of other snapshots HERE Just roll a little down and you will find it. Then I used it as source for this Pastel painting I made yesterday. Hope you like it.

A very cozy and vivid pastel painting, Helle, it has the feeling of being made with a big artist's hug. Your colors and your application of the medium feels like it was done for a magical fairy tale, it has that kind of enchantment and softness. The hues and their contrasts are vivid and very sunny. Even the shadows feel affirmative. For one of your first pastel works in a long time (I know you've done a few over, the last months, but just a few), it shows that you haven't lost the feel for this medium at all. And the shadows in back of the houses, as well as those blue-ish tree trunks back there, and then the dark trees behind them, all create a beautiful contrast to the big whites and reds of the houses. And all that contrasts with the broad yellow swath in front of the houses. I hope you do more, because this is very gentle and yet bold, and it has a love in it that's truly infectious. It's like a wonderful pastry---it's delectable, very colorful, and very sweet. You took to this medium right away---which is amazing, as many artists don't go near it---and you've yet to lose your touch. Magic.
