Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

I envy you with this beautiful garden, it looks spectacular, so many photographic opportunities across the whole year but summer really adds the colour. Wonderful collage.

That tree in the middle? Wow! That is really stunning, what a centerpiece! Every time I see one of your monthly garden collages I think it's the most beautiful month. Until I see the next one. OK, there hasn't been a single one I haven't loved, your garden is a true marvel.

Wedding Cake tree? I guess the happy couple fell off the top. My stepmother is a lifelong gardener and would lose her mind if she were able to visit. I love these monthly updates of your personal paradise.

You have a very beautiful garden Andrea. It must be a lot of work to maintain the garden but it is worth it.

It's always such a joy to visit your gardens, every month I discover new flowers, trees and plants and sections of the garden, some of which I have never seen before - like for example this Wedding Cake tree, amazing and a sight to behold. Actually your tree reminds me a little of our 'Snowflake bush' here in Australia, which is in bloom right now. (Euphorbia leucocephala, or Snowflake bush, is an interesting plant from Central America, which puts on a wonderful display of creamy, petal-like bracts during autumn and winter. Closely related to poinsettia) A credit to your 'green thumbs', and maybe just some great fertiliser and cool weather conditions ... looking forward to see it for myself soon ;) BB

Thank you so much for by this way bringing your garden to us, Andrea. Always it's a very surprising joy to admire your fantastic place. I've the idea that every time your garden gets more a garden of delight, by it's colors and shapes. That wedding cake tree does justice to its name, what a beauty.

Your love of nature really shines in this most impressive garden! Your nature shots I especially enjoy. :)

I've said it before, I'll say it again, I so look forward to the Monthly montages of your garden. Oh, that's another thing I've learned from you, the difference between collage and montage (: Your May garden looks like what ours could like in late June, July. Of course ours isn't nearly as stunning, magical, or beautiful as your Garden of Eden.

Your Cornus contraversa variegate tree is gorgeous and another super montage my friend! I also like the purplish bush - lower right - stunning!
