Description

Something I've been holding in abeyance for whatever reason, captured 4/27/14, at the beautiful Renaissance Faire, held at the beautiful Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area, in semi beautiful Irwindale, California. A handsome pair indeed, somewhat enigmatic, but definitely handsome. Other than that, they didn't exactly brim over with a hail-fellow-well met and friendly attitude as I stood over them for more than just a few moments, slyly moving in and clicking away, while recording their cool makeup and mute demeanor. The one on the right appears to have definite issues. Anyway, this was when I was first introduced to the "do not speak or acknowledge the presence of the visitors to the Faire" policy, whether official or nonofficial. Despite that, they were perhaps my favorite couple at the event, because of their unique and striking appearance. On reflection, this just added to the fun of it all. Certainly deserves a ZOOM, primarily to see how exquisitely the makeup was applied. And, guess what......like so many others, I've been bitten by the no ebot bug, so it's going go be a while before I can get to your comments and postings. Cheerybye.

Enigmatic indeed; and yes, very colourful and compelling. I can't quite figure out what it is that they remind me of. Superb series of shots of these oddly beautiful fairegoers, Harry!

Life must be simpler for these folks if they don't have to talk to the paying customers. It appears you also could shoot away without them trying to get away:) Yes, I agree...a neat couple with fabulous makeup.

I think this young couple is made-up as minstrels who told Chants of Legends countries of the Far East at the time of the Renaissance ... a very pretty story that these three pictures!!! superb !

Just time for one today, Harry---I'll be back again tonight or tomorrow. But I'm skipping the usual 'order' to go right to this, and say it's a terrific capture; and the second one is one of the best candids I've seen in a long time, anywhere. Just great how these two are dressed to the gills, highly celebrative and even macabre in dress and makeup, but they stare into space blankly, lost in thought, and anywhere but where they're sitting. These are terrific. Your pov allows us to see all those carpets (!), like we're at an old bazaar; and the tree is perfect there. Each shot is different, the last being the closeup. Real clarity and vivid hues, a real feast. I keep expecting you to run out of shots with this series, but they just keep coming. I'll be back for more, but before I sign off today I had to tell you, this is one terrific capture, sir!
