Description

Cool architecture, captured 4/17/14, off of Katella Avenue in beautiful Los Alamitos, California, about a mile from Denise's high school alma mater. Original on top, just for the record. Please ZOOM. And, guess what......like so many others, I've been bitten by the no ebot bug, so it's going go be a while before I can get to your comments and postings. Toodles.

Oooh, that's a really adventurous design for a buliding and plantings, ripe for playing with filters and variations, Harry. Great composition on the original capture, and I really like the different presentations you've given. Beautiful work, my friend!

Oooh, I also love the original---that's a fine capture of that facade. Not an easy facade to capture, but you got a low, angled pov, and it brings out the looming lines of the white arches---tilting in---and the brick 'pillars' (not the right word, but the high walls above the arches). They're in fine contrast with each other. Real clarity, lots of light. And you gave just enough sky to give us the larger context; but the crop's all about this facade, and it really works. Man, that's a good facade shot. (With the brownish bush in front, as a kind of 'frame'.) THEN...an, I assume, inversion of some kind, but in blacks, whites and grays, and with grain throughout. A kind of newspaper feel, only with deep contrasts---the arches are very strong in this shot, and it's become an abstract---a variation that fully understands the facade. Then, Valhalla! Lol---you made a meeting ground of the gods. I love the mirror image with the "join" at the end, and your colors are terrific. It looks like you blended some transparent pattern over it---maybe from the original pic? it's transformed enough so we can't tell---and yellowed those arches to look like this is from another planet. (And you purple-d the bricks too.) This is terrific---just 2 variations, but they're really strong, from a terrific original. Fine work, Sir H!
