Lovely setting. I like the colour enhancement too. Ties everything together.

Ooooh, like the beacon from a light house in this highly textured and color heavy photograph, Mark. Tons of flora of various texture in this fabulous study, my friend. I wish I could remember the name of that splotch of bright flowers or petals over to the right. And, just as mysteriously as my incoming ebots had disappeared over the past few days, they just as mysteriously appeared today, to overwhelm me with 78 of them, comments and postings alike. It's sink or swim. Feast or famine. I've been struggling all day to deal with them in my usual fashion.

Luscious colours ! I expect there are lots of exciting invertebrates in there! I should have to explore.

WOW! What a burst in colors. That lantern must be ever so happy standing in such a beautiful place all year. Again you show us these deep shadows and contrasts. Your image makes me want to jump in and absorb all the beauty :)

It's like a jewel in a particularly rich setting; the ornate post with its "diamond", square center so we can all see that it's what matters here, despite the foliage all screaming "me, no ME!" Lush and gorgeous, Mark; well done!

A wonderful & energetic riot of colors & lush vegetation - outstanding...

Oh, that light post in the center is just perfect; gives what could have been just another landscape fotos a whole new dimension. All the colors and textures are pretty spectacular as well--LOVE this shot!!

Great saturation and color work! It made me think of Claude. I wasn't surprise to see how much he likes this image. That's a huge compliment, btw, as I'm sure you know! All those shades of gold and red and cream flying around, with the darker greens holding the whole thing down. It's glorious!

There are real gardeners in Chicago and their are real photographers there too. The best photographer I know is you. Three lanterns actually...fine composition...outstanding colors...somebody said a riot of colors...agreed 100%. I can see myself taking this photo and saying to myself...nothing there...but your postwork changes all that. Niceeeee.

Mark, this is stunning work yet again my friend. You're very fortunate to have so many fascinating places near your home to visit. I also was taken in by the lushness and the wide array of colors throughout. What I find most amazing is the beauty God surrounds us with even in the city, and all he asks from us is that we be good stewards of his land.

Such a lovely and lush Autumn landscape, with a touch of humanity in the lanterns. I really could get lost inside all those marvelous colors and textures.
