after what you wrote about this being heavily painted, I can see the heavy brushwork, for sure. It's just that RR's size limits force you to reduce this to a size where that brushwork is lessened. This would be a must in its fullest size. Still this has a new look to it, a style you don't show as often as your others. It's packed with several separate entities---ie, birds, the beautiful bird-feeder/vase, the stems, the leaves, the many blooms---and they flow into each other less than in some of your pieces (flow-into each other via pulsing and connected brushwork, I mean). The separation of elements here feels very folktale-like, I love it. The birds and that wonderful bird-feeder-vase (w/ one bird peeking out from inside it) are very childlike to me. And it all bursts into a fireworks of blooms, half blooms, leaves, petals and hues, above the vase, and around and underneath it as well. The blooms look like little fireworks blooms, they just burst all over the image. And the green leaves seem to be 'raining' down from the top, like an organic confetti, dropped from the heavens to celebrate. Also, your detail on the bird's feathers is very fine. I get dizzy thinking what I'd go through trying to capture all this detail. It's a big tapestry, a little universe. And the dark you have around it is the perfect backdrop for all this bright and blooming imagery. And the roses make a home for everything else as much as everything else makes a home for the roses. Quite beautiful and wholly enchanted.

Geez.. I've run out of words. I don't want to stay away this long again but, actually, this is well worth revisiting (needless to say).
