Description
My best guess is that this is the flower of the Red Ginger plant (Alpinia Purpurata) very common in Hawaii and the Caribbean. This photo was taken in Honduras. It was the lighting that caught my eye.

Thanks Mike!!! I have seen these plants on many of the Caribbean Islands and sometimes in south Florida. This one just had better color and lighting!

You are absolutely right, the colour is just so bright and inviting - it's a must to have a picture taken ;)) you will find this type of ginger here as well, we are sort of on the other side of the equator - (on a similar longitude, were we live in the sub tropics, if that makes any sense?) wonderful Dana, BB

Great capture Dana, yes, is Red Ginger, we have a lot of this around here, my Mom has it in her garden. About Mike´s question, Corn was the sacred plant!
