Description
After seven hours I was allowed into my hotel. I no longer had any energy to check out the night life so I headed over to the tiny hotel restaurant for some delicious mushroom soup (free refills), homemade bread and butter and another ten dollar beer. Then back to my narrow bed which I am convinced should have had seatbelts, some uncensored BBC (they broadcast all the words in Iceland) and sleep.
Bright and early the next morning I stood outside the hotel with twenty-four other visitors as our bus pulled up. On the bus from the airport into town I had heard Spanish being spoken and wondered if there were Mexicans on the bus. It tuned out there were four of them and they were part of my tour group. There were six Chinese, a German couple, Ali, an Iranian-American from Tampa, Florida and me. The rest of our motley crew was from England.
After introducing herself and our driver and a short briefing we were on our way. In less than an hour we had left the city far behind and were traveling through a frozen wilderness.

A beautiful, though obviously effing cold, landscape! Wonderful lighting!

Great to visit but I think I should so much miss green if I lived there. Blue and white deserts are better than sandy ones, but I am desolate without green. It is very beautiful to see from here, though!

It looks really rough and chilly. But exciting on a very special way. LOL with your accommodation. And your troop is a nice colorful bunch. That's what I like with people of different nationalities that time to spend.
