Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

I don't know what you did but the lighting in the flickr image is superb. It gives the bottle a wonderful marble look. I've mentioned it before but you have a real talent for this sort of thing.

Two completely different shots! The flickr is about reflections, almost marine reflections, and the light-lines and apparations they create. It's cool (visual temp), it's glassy, with lots of black, and reflection lines everywhere. I don't know how you got those lines, but they're marvelous, and more of your intuition about how to capture bottles, esp the design bottles that fragrance manufacturers make. This, on the other hand, is warmer, it's about pinks, the bottles are opaque pink, with some 'grain' in the pinks. And they're couched in---I assume--cashmere. And it's a smashing choice. A completely different take. Here the glass is softened and caressed by that beautiful sweater (or whatever it is, maybe a scarf?). The big one is caressed by all those folds and shadows. And the sweater peaks with the top of the big bottle. Your background's a pale flesh-pink, a good quiet color to set off the deeper pink of the fabric. You know how to do these, you just know how to DO these, you "get" these perfumes and their bottles and their presentations, you know how to surround them, play them off of each other and off of other things, and what to bring out, even in more than one way, per perfume. Each one is a joy for me. When this went up, I knew I had to comment on it even if I skipped around. Beautiful work. And that's a nice sweater! (Or whatever it is.) I suppose it could be lambswool, but it sure looks like cashmere, and fine cashmere at that. I have some cashmere scarves, and nothing comes close to them in our winters; and I just bought---at a huuuuge discount---a 100% cashmere overcoat, because it's many times warmer than wool but is much, much thinner, so you can walk in it and feel like you're wearing a jacket. Rather than feeling like a bear. (It was on massive sale because of summer.) I love that fabric and how it acts. But I never thought about photographing with it. A wonderful choice for this bottle. And another terrific perfume shot. Man I love this series.

Both wonderful photographs but I like the soft colors in the RR version!

It looks so lovely and soft, just like I imagine 'Marshmellow pink' would look - or a cloud of pink powder, and sooooo soft ! doesn't look or sound too woody or oriental now, does it ? ;) lovely Andrea, BB
