In zoom, you can really see the details on the flowers---this is a very primal plant. It's called "plantain"? I wonder if it's connected with the fruit? It's quite primal and scruffy and there's a sense of power in those blooms. Nice assortment of directions, bends and lots of space between them. I gotta look these up and see if they have anything to do with the banana-like fruit by that name.

Depending on who one is, it is either a noxious weed, or a miracle plant. The Native American name translated means life medicine! I looked it up as I remember vaguley that it is considered to be an herbal medicine, but didn't remember what it is useful for. There is a list as long as my arm for uses of plantain! http://www.altnature.com/gallery/plantain.htm A marvelous picture Andrea! I wonder if your camera is available here in the colonies (:
