Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

I like the pink ones as well. They look like baby birds waiting for momma to come back with a meal. A marriage could be a fun opportunity to take some of your superb portraits.

Excellent shot Andrea, they have wonderful flowers in a choice of colours, with such beauty it's hard to imagine they can be poisonous. I shall be watching that programme tonight on BBC2 7:00pm - 8:00pm.

Hi Andrea, I love Foxglove, and indeed that pink has a fantastic color pink, a bit apricot is in it. Anyway, I overlooked your gallery, and there are so many beauties, that I didn't succeed to post my feelings about them by commenting. A lot of success wishes by photo-shooting. In my opinion, you don't need to be nervous, 'cause you are SO GOOD; on the other hand I also can understand it. You go girl ;-)

Aha, so THIS is where you got that "mysterious lettering"! One of these flowers! Ok, all is solved. I'm just fascinated that you left one whole side of flowers---the white ones---unfocussed, and the other IN focus. What a novel choice! It really makes them two sets of characters in one story. ALso reminds me of a dance, like from the Renaissance, when they had these line dances. Something very formal and curtsy-and-bow-ish about this. And I can't get over that you did one side in focus and other not. Whole new way of seeing rows of flowers. Lovely work and flowers.

I love them both, and would have both in my garden. A consideration for next year.

I like the pink ones too. Foxgloves are always such a joy! They're blooming everywhere at the campground right now. Delightful!
