I do not know if the people around here saw my photos I posted on facebook or not. but there is notices on the graves that need fixing and there a lot of them to be fix in this Cemetery.

.I posted these graves some time in the past. On page 4 of my gallery there is some.
First time I seen notices like these. There a big sign on the gate also that reads a notice also. They have one year to fix them or the people will be dug up [ no just kidding here but they will have to pay the city a lot of money]

Oh wow, Jock. I never saw anything like this either. Definitely glad someone is taking notice too. I wonder who would be responsible for fixing these? The cemetery, I guess? Seems like they would be responsible for the graves on their property? But jeez. I don't know. Oh. And no, I've never been on FaceBook, buddy. Just checked out that cemetery site through your link too. I never saw anything like that before either. Truly fascinating. But, yes, definitely a sad shame about these very old graves.

Great capture Jock and interesting information It is a shame that there isn't a concerted effort to maintain these cemeteries - apparently people don't like to be reminded of the past and their own mortality

I suspect there are a lot of abandoned cemeteries across the nation. When towns die or people just forget. A very sad development. Nice photo, Jocko!

After 50 years in some parts of the UK the graves can be re-used. Its a shame to see them like this.

I am glad to see that they are marked but still horrible to see the condition of these burial sites. They are somebodies relatives. We have opted for cremation and have prepaid for them already. We do not want our children and grand children to have to be responsible to maintain graves after we are gone!
