Description
My best guess is that this is one of the tallest of the Feather Reed Grasses. Behind our home in New Hampshire, we have grass that we mow weekly, then a field of uncut grass and then we have tall grass before the trees begin. The stalks are about 8 feet (2.5 meters) tall. This photo is of the feathery top that is blown about by the wind and contains the seeds for next years crop! Photo taken today. Zoom my be better for details.

Lovely nature scene. If I just looked at the image without reading the title and notes first, I'd have seriously thought this is some special TREE! :)
