Description
Captured 4/27/14, at the beautiful Renaissance Faire, held at the beautiful Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area, in semi beautiful Irwindale, California.
The pretty little wench was smilingly walking around like this when I first saw her, so she didn't pull off this pose just for my pleasure. Like so many others at the event, she may have had a few nips of the ale somewhere along the line. Just about anything went at the Faire.

I'm skipping ahead because I wanted to do this before I leave right now. This is joyous, another capture of people who are smiling for you but not hamming it up (as you suggest, she didn't look this way just for you---you, rather, captured her looking this way, as a photographer). A terrific facial capture, she's looking to the side but gazing at you, she's tilted a little upwards but gazing at you, the kind of pose that painters tried to capture. And a great smile, and shaded by that terrific hat, and by her braids. Cropped just right, and with a nice helping of the fair around her: bright reds on both sides, and an opening to the sky above. It's a terrific portrait, one of the many you're culling from this shoot; and you cropped and presented it in terrific proportions. Voila!

If she had a nip or two it hasn't affected her balancing act. She's very pretty with a lovely smile. Beautiful portrait. I love the warm colors of the basket, her hair and the flowers in them, and the red ribbon on her bodice. Her face has a soft rosy glow too. (Of the healthy sort, not the imbibing sort). Excellent shot!
