Description
Captured 1/25/14, early morning, about a mile and a half from my habitat. I walked that distance at a rapid pace in fear of losing that particular sky effect before I could find a decent photo viewing spot relatively free of trees, poles, overhead wires, and structures.
A ZOOM definitely in order here.
Adieu.

A big bulging blanket of a sky, like it's sagging into the landscape. Beautiful saturated blues on top, and the light below is so different and such a fine contrast. And I like the size of the swath of land: it balances the sky very nicely. Also, the land portion: It looks like you walked clear out of the city! It's dark (as early morning grounds will look), so there may be more detail there than we can see: But it looks like a stretch of countryside, with a fence and watch tower---almost like a prison is back there! It really looks like you stepped into the midwest countryside. I agree with Rob about the few comments, but this is another subject viewers just don't bother with, which is a shame as this is a beautiful shot, and mysterious and evocative. And kudos for making the jaunt---people forget that, in huge cities like ours, such vistas are very hard to find. (Luckily, I have a park and lake nearby, without which I'd NEVER be able to get clear views.) Kudos for zipping along while pleading with the sky to stay put. I know what that's like, believe me.
