My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

I am delighted !!!! This is wonderful. Of course you knew I would love a critter. Great shot too.

LOL! Many people never got the memo about hairstyles, either...I still see this one around on a lot of folks! Great shot of what is either Walter or one of the girls, I think (Sheila is one, I don't know the other). Walter is always by himself, while the others hang out in a group, so it's probably him. He's old for an emu, I think Robyn said he was 37, which is about their life span. So I guess he's allowed to wear his hair however he wants, eh? Wonderful backlighting, wish I could get it like that, I guess I'm always there too early in the day.

:) This is great! The light is excellent, too!

Oh, I love emus! This is a fabulous one, and he has a slight atavism: look at his beak; there are serrations near the tip; those are a throwback to the days when birds had fewer feathers and more teeth...in short, that's a left-over dinosaur trait, which probably also explains the 80s hair. It would seem (from modern studies) that most dinosaurs probably did look a bit like extras in a Boy George or Cyndi Lauper video. How cool is that! And what a serious looking bird. Emus always look so...focused. This is a brilliant shot.

the look says, I'll show you party animal! Great capture Tara

OMG..... LOL! All he needs is a gold chain around his neck with a peace symbol on it! What a riot! This is absolutely priceless, Tara, and an awesome capture of this emu as well! I love it!

Everything old is new again - I just knew it would return to haunt us ... maybe he was always the trendsetter in that clique long ago and just couldn't let go - I know a few humans like that ;P BB

Bed hair! I've always like it. And unlike Ronnie I love the spikey thing too. This is a wonderfully cheerful photo!

This can't be Walter because I think I dated her in the 80s. Great shot, really stands out from the background. She looks very mellow.

What a great shot - love the backlighting. Would make an outstanding cartoon villain...

FABTASTIC! Soooo cute, and big fun!

yeah, with claude, he's make a great cartoon villain. (Or she, ala Denise---although this is definitely NOT a Sheila. Tallulah I'd accept, not Sheila. Sorry, S.) All the fun aside, it's a terrific shot, the light makes it appear like a photo for its latest album of punk rock. Although the background wouldn't likely be a soft bokeh. It's really a fine shot, with that backlighting making its mane look like real hair---I assume it's all feathers, right? I mean, do birds have actual hair? We're looking at the strands off of feathers, I assume---but you've made it LOOK like hair. And the scraggly necks and heads of these things are shown off really well by your lighting and your tight crop. And the dark red eye looks menacing here (in that shadow). And yes, there are hairstyles like this today, worn by young men: short on the sides with hair standing straight up on top. Nice how the light tails along both sides of its neck too. Cropped just right. This is a fine bird shot, Tara, and I love how, as you and Bill post shots from this zoo, Denise comes in with all her background. At last she can respond to someone else shooting the same spot she's been shooting for so long. Wonderful scruffy shot, and I'm loving this series.

I'm making no comment LOL Honestly, I had long hair and I still go for the long look.. (liking the heavier music scene etc lol ) Good capture Tara.. Rob
