Description

...with fly. Tara was saying how good roses can look growing through an evergreen shrub, and the same goes for Clematis, which can look so terribly sad on their own on a wall or trellis. This is a dwarf conifer which serves this purpose. I'm not sure I would have kept it but for the support it offers! See a close-up of the beautiful centre Here

A dramatic clematis bloom, vibrant and captured so well here, the background of the green really punctuates so vividly this flower, the fly is a welcome bonus, I seem to remember the use of flies and other bugs were often featured in those early fruit still life paintings.. think they were old Dutch masters.

That is a lovely background and lovely color on the Clematis. Gorgeous zoom on FlickR to see the amazing stamens and pistil.!!!

The flickr is a vivid blast of the stamens. An eye popper. This is about the clematis looking almost like fabric, and in utter contrast to that big bed of yellow and green. It really stands out! And I don't know how you got such tactile textile feeling here. Wonderful petal textures, and layout too. As if the flower posed for you. Also, the fly looks like he's approaching the end of a diving board and ready to jump off. A real eye-burst of a shot, with that wonderful contrast. (Re all your flickr alternates, we should have alternate links ourselves, so if people get tired of us, they can click on a more pensive version of us, or more witty, or a better dancer...or with better shoes...Or a gravestone with the link, "for a better version, click here..." Or the Garden of Eden, with 2 billion links to the 'flickr' version. Which has more red...)

I agree the conifer support works well with this beautiful flower.
