Greetings to the people of Earth.
I've always wanted to say that! Now that I did, I can now get on with other things.
I'm a science fiction writer (not famous yet) born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I've lived in the Czech Republic and Germany, and though I am currently back in Chicago, much of my heart remains in the Czech Republic. Maybe it's the beer. Or the bread. I hope to live in Moscow soon, as a big portion of my heart already resides there. I've had an interest in science fiction since an early age and will probably maintain that interest for the rest of my life. I love SF, and anything else that embraces the spirit of discovery...or anything that chafes against the arbitrary boundaries of "conformity."Â
I discovered Renderosity a couple of years back when I was browsing the internet, looking for cool images to spark my imagination during a period of writer's block. It wasn't a serious block, but I needed something to make me ask the sorts of questions that I always ask before settling down to craft a short story or novella. Since that time, I've written quite a lot and I've begun to post photographs and other visual works that I created here...partially because I love the Renderosity community in general, and partially because the images and text-snippets that I have contributed here are something of an ongoing journal. I'm incredibly lazy when it comes to journal keeping, and so posting picures of particular significance actually helps me to remember the things I want to remembe, without having to eat into my fiction writing time by writing non fiction. Well, at least that's my excuse and I am sticking with it.
I entered into the field of photography totally by accident; I'd always been interested in capturing small stories, but it wasn't until my journey to Europe that I began to consciously seek out tableaus that imply stories in progress. As a result of that, my writing is growing in unexpected directions, and I look forward to becoming more and more active here, and in other artistic/publishing fields.
For those looking at my gallery, enjoy it and feel free to leave comments and sitemail! Good day to all!

As far as I'm concerned, you can take any number of photographs from any number of time frames and do whatever you want with them! LOL! Mark took his last six images, which included some 2D work. I took my last six posted photographs, and didn't include a painting that would have been in there if I'd done what Mark did. I took Mark's last six photographs, ignoring the 2D stuff, and played with them. Bill took his last six photographs, decided it didn't work, and picked three he liked and came up with something wonderful. I wonder what would happen if I took Mark's last 2, my last 2, your last 2, and combined them? !!!! Holy cats! The possibilities are endless, which is exciting. Maybe I could take the first picture from each of the last six pages in my gallery and ... (Hmmm ... well, okay. I'm back! Did you miss me? I just went and took the top right-hand picture from each of the last six pages in my gallery and put them together. All it proves is that I have technique ... but is it ART? LOL! I'll have to sit on it for a while and let it decide if it needs to be seen or not.) Okay, THAT was quite a tangent! I like what you've done with these images, and it seems like there's a story in there. This seems to tie into a story you did a while back where one of the guys was part- or sometimes- or secretly-insectoid. LOVE the way you put wings on this fellow! They seem so natural, and he appears to be focused on some internal thought process, giving no attention at all to his wings. I suppose if one HAD wings, and everyone else around you had them, you would rarely give them a thought ... at least no more than you would an arm or a leg. Fascinating to think about. I'm looking forward to whatever story emerges. (If it's going to emerge, does that mean it's pupating now?)

I saw this and immediately thought of Mothman. A very creative image. For some reason the earwigs/termites seem intimidating, as if they are about to swarm. I wonder what this fellow would think about what you've done with his image?

I haven't a clue what you are all doing but looks impressive to me!!!

Very creative swirling insect/metamorphosis fantasy & though it's clearly recognizable as a collage of multiple images, it all blends together very harmoniously & organically. And the intense, serious look on this guys face adds to the drama. Finely crafted work...

I like this; he doesn't look quite comfortable with his wings (his shoulders seem a little tense, like he's feeling the weight and angle of them, which I suppose you would if you suddenly found yourself winged.) But the wings are lovely, and they blend well, and probably by the next block he'll settle into them and maybe spread them a big and waft a little. I do like how your brain does these things!
