Description

Miss Meadow on this mornings walk. In this pic you can see the stitches in her face. She had a little fatty lump taken off last week. Stitches come out on Monday. Dana asked re ticks, thankfully the girls very rarely get them. Truly had one a few months ago but before that maybe it was last year. I don't put flea treatments on the girls, they have a garlic tablet twice a week & that thankfully keeps them free of fleas. Thanks for all the lovely comments & favs, so, so appreciated. xxx

The divine Miss Meadow looks great and lets hope that she mends up nicely! Thanks for the update on the fleas and ticks. Because there are so many deer around here - ticks are a big problem.

Ticks have become a big problem here, and I do use stuff on Leya. The ticks here carry several diseases, and it's always a worry. As a rule, I did't use it on the other dogs, only when it was a bad summer for fleas. The product I use also protects against biting flies, and when Leya got bit by what we call a deer fly, and it got infected, she had to me on antibiotics, so I decided maybe I would have to use the horrid stuff on her on this summer. I think ticks will be a problem too this summer. One somtimes has to choose between the lesser of evils. I used to use garlic tablets for the First Dog, and mostly it worked well. Not so much though for the dogs that came after.
