Description
Captured in 12/2006, very early morning, about 1.4 miles from my anachronistic abode. I had to walk to the park with a fervor before the fog could dissipate.

What a lovely misty vision you've captured here, Harry; I know it's not a weather condition you get much of down there, so I'm sure you were excited to see it. Looks like your fervor getting to the park paid off, plenty of mist and mystery in this excellent photo!

Off topic, it's great to see artist's abbreviations---ia-du-lin speaks of "atmo": Do you know that none of my dictionaries even has the world "postwork"? POV, dof, compo, atmo---so common among us, but unknown to the rest of the world. Well, THAT was boring, but I just was thinking...Anyway, like people say above, a beautiful fog-filled shot, where it doesn't take much real estate before the fog envelops everything. The back layers are all ghosts...And you got that eerie phenomenon of greater light in the background than in the foreground---something fog does spectacularly well. Beauty and dissolution in the same shot. And, re Denise, yeah I'd guess you don't get lots of fog in LA (though I could be wrong), because of the drier conditions there. It's one of nature's 'filters', and it's great fun for the photographer. There's so much fog out my window this very minute, that all you can see is "white" (disconcerting when you're on the 27th floor and you wonder if the world disappeared overnight). Also, ever photographed fog with a flash? If it's thick enough, it'll sometimes give you some very strange effects. But it has to be very thick, otherwise the flash gets devoured with everything else...
