Description
Captured 6/10/13, early morn, right off of Imperial Highway in my fair city.
As you know, I do a lot of walking around town, and normally see dishes attached to roofs, whether homes or otherwise, and even second floor balconies, but this is the first time I found them situated at virtual ground level.
Ciao, baby.

I guess the building doesn't have cable; what a surreal sight, as if they're receiving transmissions from different planets in outer space. The positioning of these things has to do with satellite positions in the atmosphere, and at least these are the small ones...can you imagine if they were the old 8-foot wide ones? Excellent series of shots of this less-than-glamorous apartment complex, Harry; and Imperial Highway is a very long street, it went past my grade school in Los Angeles when I was a kid!

a beautiful and amazing series well ... we wonder if the walls were not built to withstand these dishes ... to be in relationship with continuie Martians ... unless it be that vessels Martians have landed on these walls!!!

I like claude19's idea that these were built for Martians...and it wigs me out the Denise knows the Imperial Highway! (Besides, "Imperial Highway" sounds like the road to the ancient Emperor's...) These are terrific. One, for the lineup of dishes---in some sections like angling antennae squirming up into the sky and getting in each others' ways. Two, because they're on ground level, which is against all expectations. Three, the contrasts in number one are sharp and strong, and the dark trees and eave make wonderful contrast to that bleached "soviet" looking wall. On the bottom one, the contrasts aren't as great, but the variety is: More dishes, more twisting and turning, that big "burning bush" (looks like it's from Exodus!) just billowing out like smoke, and the pointed arches over I doors (near the wall-line): One fascinating shot. Both in bleak cloudy hues, which make this look like a Soviet block from the 50's. The first shot could be an upload by itself, esp with that bleached browned grass...terrific. Again, kudos for messing with subjects like this: Terrific captures.
