I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

That's exactly what I did after my exhausting Father's Day event, Carin. And I still feel it.

A wonderful photo Carin and I don't know how they can nap on those hard logs - I know that they are wild animals but I ache just looking it him!

Chimps...such odd creatures; far more violent than we like to think (when they're adults) and so much more like us than we like think...when they're doing stuff like building tents and using chopsticks (sort of) to eat delicious termites. And because of those vaguely human-ego destroying traits they possess, I find them rather appealing, and this shot captures all of the things that I like about chimps. Did you know that they react to thunderstorms in the way that metalheads respond to heavy metal concerts? And to top it all off, you captured one so perfectly here! Just look at that face! There's stuff going on in that brain, albeit in another language, but contentment seems to express itself in the same way across the board. How cool is that. I love the clarity of this shot and the POV is perfect. This is a great shot. I know that position. That's nap-pose #2: best suited for wooden platforms, picnic blankets, or comfy day-beds. Naps. Such fun. I like this photo a lot! Somebody is nice and relaxed and knows it.

A fantastic POV, now it's not the lion sleeps tonight, but the ape sleeps today. Almost a intimate photo, Carin.
