Description
All captured during 6/2014, the top one about one-third of a mile away, the bottom four in my condominium complex.
I've shown the canines from #2 and #3 before, the one in #4 and #5 was playing peekaboo with me before it started barking. The guy in #1 was difficult to capture because it goes ballistic with all kinds of jumping, running and whirling whenever it sees me.
Ciao, baby.

The bottom photo is particularly good. The poor things don't have any grass, mine wouldn't like that!

Maybe it's the camera that they don't like? I love meeting dogs on my outings, I always stop and talk to them and pet them. Perhaps they feel you're intruding on their territory, if they're left out to guard the property? They all look like nice enough dogs under the right conditions. Excellent series of shots, Harry!

Good captures of these varied dogs, and I hope you are careful as you stroll through your neighborhood!

Lol, dogs are always so brave when they're behind fences!! Though as a former letter carrier, I HATED going into a fenced yard with a dog. I have scars to prove they do NOT like us there. Great idea and fun fotos!!

I recognize 2 and 3, and 3 has a wonderful on-top pov, where you must've been craning over a fence or something to get that shot. It's a terrific directly-above capture. 1 is a dog typically barking so hard he almost pulls himself off the ground---he's barking to the sky, he's barking so hard: a real dog posture. And the last 2 are delightful, as he peeks through the leaves to see who you are. (He's also a beautiful animal, with a beautiful coat.) Yes, if there's no grass around them, they'd be pretty unhappy; but city dogs get used to city environs very quickly. They're very territorial, seeing so many people around them; and they'll bark with no fatigue or let up, all day long. You wonder where they get the energy. If you could sit with them, they'd no doubt warm up to you; but many owners want a dog to warn them of intruders, and that's what these dogs seem to be doing. I read Marilyn's comment---I knew she'd been a mail carrier---and I'm sure she got plenty of contact with angry dogs. And as a carrier, she didn't have the time to "make friends" either. (Carriers go through a lot of craziness!) A delightful collection, Harry, and the 1st, 3d, and 5th shots have delightful angles, showing dogs being dogs to the core.

Adorable captures !!!

Great captures! Number 5 is my favorite. The first one does look absolutely brimming with energy. It radiates out of that taut body. I like the white patch on his chest. The second dog is very pretty, though he looks the most menacing to me. I like the composition of the image with the claws of the statue behind him very prominent. Beautiful capture of the third one. He looks wonderful against the red tiles. Poor thing looks very aware of his diminutive status though. I'm sure he'd much rather you be closer to his height. The last one is very cute. It looks like his tail is wagging so even though he did his duty by barking a warning, he seems a very friendly sort. I love the last picture! He is beautifully framed by the plant.
