...of tall buildings. Just a glimpse of my high-rise's stairwell, 28th floor. Another large pic--please Zoom. Thanks for your wonderful visits, I appreciate every one! Mark

I was supposed to do a pic entitled 'eerie' today, and compared to this I've failed dramatically. This could be extremely eerie with a little Mark magic postwork!

We so seldom look up. This is a brain-twisting shot, full of familiar-yet-different objects. The light on that shiny paint they use in stairwells generates a bit of excitement!

Ha, not what I expected. I expected to find you shooting with a tripod in Illinois Caverns (Monroe County), or maybe Squire Boone Caverns (Mauckport, Indiana), or Bear Cave (Berrian County, Michigan), but no, right in your own stairwell:-) Great idea. Another proof of there are pictures everywhere and some of the most interesting are things you pass by everyday without a second glance. Here the light and shadows play for us. The off-whites show us the variety of whites we encounter daily. The composition illustrates Mark's imagination at work. Superb.

Oh yes, a scene right out of the surfeit of horror movies I enjoy watching. Great spooky effects dominate this watch-your-step scene, Mark. Or, this is how it would look during a power outage, elevators inoperable, with only battery operated lamps on each level to guide the residents down to the street. Anyway, love the reflections on the left and right walls, and the shadows cast by the pipes onto the facing wall.

What catches my eye is that little robot-person looking at you from the bottom of the shot...one eye on you, one eye elsewhere. I wonder if there was anyone in the stairwell wondering what you were up to?

Oh my, that is quite the cavern, and has a definite creep factor.

Mark, I think you did an outstanding job bringing this brilliant idea to life. I simply love this modern version of caverns, and like the way you chose a location familiar to you. The lighting and shadows give it that Eerie effect that all caverns seem to have.
