I love this, the blowout white of the ice with the two silhouettes at the bottom (I'm thinking Mystery Science Theatre); I wonder if they're giving a commentary on the conditions out there? Anything to do with weather has my attention, I think I'm a frustrated meteorologist wannabe... Great work!

Glad Denise knew the program name, "Mystery Science Theater"...that's what your two guys in the lower right reminded me of immediately:) Using the two guys in the "peanut gallery" lets the mind wander all over the place with this photo. I'll bet they are talking about global warming. I'll bet they are looking for a place to go ice fishing. I'll bet they are looking for polar bears. Could that be Chip in the lower right corner with the hoodie? What fun. Most imaginative on your part Mark! And an Olympus E-510 product no less...

Snow blindness a-go-go in this uber stark setting of winter time on Lake Michigan, Mark. But no Mystery Science Theater for me, this is all an Antarctic documentary in my books, even with those two dark images at the lower right. And, just by coincidence, I watched the movie, Absolute Zero, last night, which was mostly about Miami freezing over and left buried in white ice due to a severe weather anomaly. In any case, not much more I can add to this cool (pun intended) abstract. Oh, and congratulation on catching up with your comments. It was like climbing a Mount Everest-high sand dune.

One of these days, I'm gonna see this lake all white and cold and frozen. You'll probably have to haul me off in truck since most likely I'll be frozen solid, but by gosh, I'll have finally seen it!! Super shot, but dang, now I'm COLD!!

Lake Michigan is a natural wonder of many moods. Interesting to see it so pale and so still, in contrast to the wild waves in spring and summer. The couple in silhouette adds a nice human element.

Huddled. The composition reinforces the feeling created by the two figures in hoods sitting close. Excellent!

Mark, I hope you will pardon the pun but I also enjoyed this cool capture of Lake Michigan. The iced over appearance certainly adds to this photo, and is a treat for the eyes. You never cease to amaze me with the way you keep coming up with these fun ideas for photographs.
