Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Taller than his mom. He looks appropriately determined and a little dangerous. Nice portrait of the two of them.

Cool pic. Really nice pic. This makes me think of the kind of "high tech candid" I'd expect to see in the context of a Colonial viper or raptor pilot...maybe a raptor pilot celebrating his 1000th landing...in which case, somebody has a bottle of ambrosia (the good stuff from Leonon, and not that overpriced Caprican stuff) not far away. Hmmm...how many Battlestar Galactica references can I squeeze into this comment? I'd better stop while I'm ahead, because I feel at least three more such references coming on, and one of them involves a toaster in a red dress...don't ask!. And so we circle back around to my actual comment...this is cool. It's so nice to see him not speeding in your direction with plumes of dust behind him like hypersonic jet-wash, though I suspect that seeing him motionless is something of a rare sight. This is a great shot. I like it a lot.

Stellar contrast and POV in this excellent portrait of your bundled up nephew and sister, taken under rather adverse conditions, Marilyn.
