This smart hoverfly was tricky to photograph, but eventually settled on an Iris leaf in my pond

Yep, they are are very fleeting creatures, but have the occasional quiet moment, that is when it is best to snap them in my experience, great shot, and thanks for the ident on what appears to be a vast species.
