Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I may get round to having a go at paddle boarding this year, but there will be NO waves involved.

I'll just stand here on the shore with you and watch, if that's okay! LOL!

Wow, i think it's impossible for me to stay on those boards without any waves... Great Shot!

Andrea, make sure there are at least small waves involved. I promise, once you catch your first you WILL be hooked! These boards will catch the smallest of broken waves with ease. If you are not comfortable catching the wave, just catch the rolling white water. You will still feel the thrill.

Terrific image. The silhouette against the sky works really well.

Looks like fun, but I think my days of trying something like this have passed me by. A great action shot, as you do so well!

blinkings called you Andrea, the result of being in a hurry and Renderosity overload. But I digress. Super striation-like effect in this magnifique shot of the dude on the paddle board not only cusping over the wave, but also sweeping it with a broom at the same time. And love that transition of dark blue water to those gorgeously textured frothy waves, Marilyn. Huntington Beach at its best.
