Description

Blender, Poser, Photoshop --- Welcome! Thank you for taking the time to view my work. And a double thanks to those who take the time to favorite or comment. This is my two piece outfit on Dawn with swimsuit textures and materials. I also used this scene to refine my satin textures, so I'm making progress. This uses Dawn's starter and base morphs, ES Candy for Dawn (Rendo), Sapphire Fox Hair by Quarker (no longer sold), and a beach scene by HoboBo (sharecg). The hair diffuse and streak textures are mine, as is the hair material (I'm really happy with how it rendered). I just used the default skin materials for the character, though I replaced the various eye shaders. I used Blender to make the clothes, and Photoshop to make their textures. I scaled the figure down to 85% whole body, and 95% in the z in the first frame to make the clothing fit well. I also used the morph brush to touch up her body, and add some details. I used Nothing to Hide by Chloe-Dancer (adult!) at deviantART to reference the pose and body. The scene presented some interesting technical problems. Scenes are a very useful addition to the library, but they have the drawback of including someone else's render settings. I first replaced the lights with my own, and turned on gamma correction in the render settings. And then couldn't figure out why my shadows were _way_ too dark, while my highlights and bounced light were too bright and the wrong color. I finally remembered what images looked like before using GC and checked my GC number. It was set to a gamma of 1.0 instead of 2.2. I set it to 2.2, and it immediately gave me the performance I was looking for, the kind I'm used to. The light is kind of interesting in this one. The scene came with lights, but I found it better to replace them. I have a sun infinite and two "bounce" infinites to fake the light bounced off the water with heavily blurred shadows and low intensity. I also used an environment sphere, the Ground (invisible to the camera), I'm having a 4th of July sale at my store here. Please check it out!

One definitely gets that warm summer feeling from this image. Your bikini looks fantastic! I agree: the hair shader makes Quarker's hair spring to life - that's always been one of my favourite hair figures.
