Description

Like my mother and grandmother before me I cannot throw away anything that I can tie plants with! I am increasingly linking my uploads to RR with Flickr as you noticed, I'm sure! Time is short when the days are long which is why I often post something related to the scavenger hunt groups to which I belong. See the 'String' one Here

You will never be a farmers boy without a piece of string, a pocket knife and a shilling in your pocket !!

I think you are just stringing us along. My mother was the same way. I have rolls of twine that are antiques.

Cute shot! Reminds me when I gave my brother-in-law a jar for his workshop labelled "String Too Short To Keep;" it was always full, LOL!

Sterling POV and focus. I have a lot of rubber bands and plastic ties, but very little string to go along with it.

Interesting shot.. and the question I ask "How long is a piece of string?" :-) I like these kinds of focused tight in shots of day to day things, because these things are often so familiar to us we often neglect any aesthetic value they may or may not have. I liked some of the works Picabia did with pins and clips and such things forming faces.

I like the way you've piled the string. It gives the feeling of a portrait, or a formal still life. Wonderfully done!

Yes, it does have the air of a formal still life; must be the draped background. What a brilliant composition and shot!
