Description

Stratiomis chameleon It was very exciting to see this insect on an Echium seedling leaf while I was doing my hosepipe rain dance last evening. (Which, I have to tell you, was extremely successful, resulting in a satisfying downpour!) There are 4 of this fly, 2 here and 2 on Flickr, see another Here

Such excellent detail in this shot and with a Panasonic TZ3, I often use a TZ5 and they are great series of cameras, they punch way above their weight and price bracket.

Awesome shot of the Soldier Fly, Andrea, all set to go to war, but sans armament. Or maybe it is equipped with weapons I can't detect. And, speaking of Tizzies, whatever happened to model 25?
