Description

I now have a new obsession. Dragonflies are way too magical now that I am seeing them through a lens. I do not have enough time for this, but I suspect I will find away. Less sleep time maybe. Sleep is over rated............probably causes cancer.

2 beautiful and difficult shots. Good work! And great patience. Very nice capture of the subtle shifts in colors. These fellows look so mechanical, almost like a "transformer", ready to turn into a fighting super truck. When I look at this creature and at the racoons, I see the intelligence in the racoons. But these creatures also have intelligence, and probably some feelings, too, or they wouldn't have survived. I often think of the tiny nervous strings and ganglia that comprise the nervous system of an ant (the small ones). Yet they have a very sophisticated system of communication, can see light and dark (possibly more), have self preservation (including fear or fight), and so on. I simply marvel at the complexity and sophistication of such a small critters "simple" nervous system! And this fellow, larger than a tiny ant, must have more nerves and feels/experiences more, I suppose. Amazing that a bugs eyes are bigger than its front ganglia (and to add to the amazement - they DON'T have brains, only nerve strings and ganglia located at head, legs and wings). Keep up the good work! :-)
