My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Such a beautiful and regal face. I wish they could all be free in the jungle where they belong. This is a really fantastic capture.

Beautiful Tiger,,,We have some White Tigers nearby in Camp Verde, a place called "Out of Africa"! And I'm about due for another visit there soon.

It's hard to imagine this magnificent creature as a "savage beast...." That face, those eyes..... He looks like he's about to speak, like the lion in the Narnia stories, with ageless wisdom. Beautiful portrait of this gorgeous cat, Tara!

What a beautiful and noble face. He looks like he is a thousand miles away. Sad to think this may be the only place where such magnificent creatures can survive.

He's a special kitty, is Almos; he loves to pose for the camera, like no other animal I've ever seen. He has a whole range of "faces" and angles he puts on when he sees a camera pointed at his face. He seems to know what you're doing and what he should do. It's really quite amazing to interact with him like that, as clearly you found out! I also hate that these cats are "confined", but as they've never known anything else, and their keepers love them so very much, and the zoo in general puts their health and welfare first, I think they could be much worse off. At least they'll never end up in some "natural medicine" or on a trophy hunter's wall, and it gives the rest of us a chance to love them and appreciate them too.
