Description
Bison are very plentiful in Yellowstone - pretty much as common as cows & horses on a country road. They would often meander along roads like this, backing traffic up for great distances in both directions. Not their problem...

They are magnificent creatures; I'd love to see them wandering around the roads!

Very good shot unfortunately, they will not match the numbers that they had in the past....

They have a pretty good size herd in the Black Hills of S. Dakota, as well. We were there last fall and saw a bunch of them - got a few good photos, too. It's been too many years since I've seen Yellowstone... Excellent shot of these magnificent animals.

Years ago I lived down the road from a "beefalo" farm, and those shaggy coats are a familiar sight. They're quite a bit more impressive seen like this!

Must be a thrill for the car drivers seeing them... Nice shot. Aloha

Nice shot! I was just thinking as I looked at this that the "clothes" on their backs look a lot like the clothes kids wear nowadays (mostly holes). haha

I realize that they are shedding their winter coat but they look so this in this photo. Maybe youngsters!
