great image, the sand effect is top quality. Did the atmo render the same or close to same each time?. Ive messed with it and have had issue getting it to repeat, this was atmo with fog prop http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=2546744&user_id=390218&np&np. Looking for tips lol

I still am not sure about volumetric light. I mean I understand the basic concept, but I don't know how it is activated. Is it a plug-in? This image by the way is quite startling in its visual impact. Very nice job.
paul_gormley
Hi Fitz, will send you a mail. It isn't a plug in, just a setting in materials > advanced > atmosphere (in the objects drop down menu at the bottom. This throws up a small window with a number of settings. Secret is to have a background primitives > square is good enough and just drop the diffuse and specular settings so that it doesn't reflect a bunch of things and light, then any spotlight shows as a kind of torch beam.

I really love the effect you achieved here. I've often thought of putting a fog effect on my lights or a "ray" effect, but have no idea how. Wonderfully done here. :)
