Description
I got a call about an injured fox in the road. The location was, to say the least, way back in the middle of nowhere. I was unable to save the fox. As I was getting ready to leave, I spotted this guy at the edge of the woods. He was so still I thought at first he must be sick or injured. Turned out I was quite wrong. I was able to take a few shots before he grew tired of the intrusion on his nap in the sun. He gave me this look of disgust, got up and wondered back to the woods. I have never seen a bobcat in the wild, except the kittens I rescued a few years ago. This is one big kitty! I would guess that he was at least 35 pounds. His paw was about the size of my palm. I was so glad he was not hurt or sick.
I think he is amazingly beautiful.

Wow, great shot. He is beautiful & you're very lucky to have gotten such a clear view of him. Some of my neighbors have seen bobcats around here, but I never have...

Oh, my! Good thing he wasn't angry or hungry. But, could he possibly be one of the little ones you've cared for? Perhaps that was the meaning with this "outing"? Thanks for posting this. Beautiful photo of a beautiful, fierce creature. But, I understand they prefer to walk away than engage in a fight. I know this is true for mountain lions. Keep up the good work! :-)

Great shot of a very ellusive creature. Perfect focus. Well done because I bet your heart was pounding at the chance to get this shot.
