Description

Beacon Rock is 848 feet (258 m) tall and is composed of basalt. it is an interesting climb, though I haven't had the chance to climb it, YET! One of the next trips up the gorge will afford me that opportunity to do that. You can bet that I will be taking pictures the entire way up and down. This is from the boat landing, quite a bit from the rock

WOOOOOOOOOOOOW! This is awesome Mike! Beautiful scene! We have a popular climbing spot here in NH called Cathedral Ledge. A VERY experienced climber from Maine who has even taught many others fell to his death just two days ago. He didn't fall to the bottom but fell about 65 feet where-upon his safety line caught him and apparently broke his back or neck. If you climb, be very careful.
