Description

A full sized view of the medal on the neck of a pre-WWi court tunic. This is an extremely rare Pour le Merite, as it has the crown suspension. That crown was added for 50 years' service to the state. This particular medal has the original three-stripe cravat, only authorized for the crown suspension. (The usual Pour le Merite ribbon was black with two white/silver stripes.) This medal is hallmarked JG, for Josef Godet, a maker in Vienna.
