Description

Mr. Two Feathers, my local male Ruby-Throated Hummingbird, shows off his stunning colors in early morning light. Feather detail better in zoom. It's a little easier to see here that he only has 2 tail feathers, one directly on top of the other, instead of the 10 tail feathers he should have. Solid focus in this great and rare capture of a hummingbird at rest, Maria. Mr Two Feathers may have lost most of its tail feathers in an aerial dog fight, WWI style.
