Description
Castle Ewen is an unnatural natural rock formation in Fairy Glen on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. It is located on a single track road east of the town of Uig on the west coast of Skye.
The path to the valley is not well marked which is a bit of a blessing because it is a place of such delicate beauty that it could be easily wrecked. There is no real place to park, you just have to pull off the road and hoof it up the trail. The Glen is well named for it is a place of really mysterious rock formations that defy explanation.
I thought of Rod when I was at this place as I could well imagine him putting in some of his fae folk renders into this landscape.
The weather was magically rotten which gave magestic purple black threatening skies and rich vibrant greens on the ground.

Seems like there should be an actual castle at the top of this large rock formation, though judging by the scale that the people reveal, it would have to be a miniaturized castle. And you're right - the rotten weather enhances the mood here - a sunny day would have ruined it. I love the richly textured sky & the whole effect is Lovecraftian...

This is so far beyond cool, it's hard to find words.... This place just exudes Magick - I can definitely imagine the Fae Folk dancing and weaving their spells in the moonlight. What a wonderful place, and excellent photo. The cloudy, ominous sky suits this perfectly. It has the feel of a scene from Game of Thrones, what little I've seen of it. Thanks so much for this wonderful dedication, Roxy! I'm blown away! And you never know.... Fae Folk may well appear suddenly... wink
