Description

Though not spectacular, I was impressed that I could make this entirely in Hitfilm 2 Ultimate. As I continue on my eternal quest for making my movie, I am aiming to do many things in a compositing and post effects program like hitfilm. Anyway Here is the link to the small animation on this: https://vimeo.com/101172645 Oh, no I didn't come up with this myself, here is the excellent tutorial I used: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngSsbtYEonQ&index=5&list=PLlWTC51leC43lljgnU6RqcoQOlfNMCFTm

Nicely done, I have been wanting to give HitFilm a try, but haven't done it yet. This looks very good. Congrats!

Compared to after effects it is a steal. But if you can go the subscription route, Adobe offers there products exclusively that way which may make AE more accessible. I've used FXHome products for several years, in anticipation of make more animations. It offers two types of tracking systems built/bundled in the software, a great particle system, great keying and all pretty comprehensible.

Beautiful image and the animation was cool, too. Looks really nice as is, but if you're going for accuracy, you might want to invert the fresnel(?) shader. Stars show an effect called "limb darkening" where the center of the star is brighter than the edges. Only astronomy nerds would notice that sort of thing. :] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limb_darkening if you're interested in the details. Have to check that product out. Don't do animations any more but you never know. And it's always good to see an alternative to Adobe products.
