Description
I promised you that I would post more pictures of red shoulder hawks. I wanted you to see the color variations.
This is quite possibly the most beautiful one I have ever seen.
The strawberry blonde color is one I have never seen.
If you look, you can see that the wing on the right is drooping.
This beautiful bird will never fly again. He is the victim of a car.
He will be placed in an educational program, but I wish he could just be free.

He will probably be a happy bird even though constrained.

He is so beautiful, he will be well cared for but I know he would love to fly. xx

Is he panting due to hot weather, or is he telling you off for taking his photo without permission? :) What a good photo of this beautiful bird. So sad he can't fly again. But, he will be sure to try. What is his attitude towards you? Does he understand you care about him? I'm interested in the bird's psychology here, as this is a bird of prey and can be vicious. Keep up the good work with the animals and with photographing them! :-)

Awesome capture of this beautiful hawk in his hour of distress of not being able to fly anymore. He will eventually come to terms with it but I know it is a hardship to see, so sad...((( At least he is in good hands....:)))

My wish as well krittermom. the other day a Cape Robon was stuck at a windoow. It triet withou success to fly throygh the window and coulsd have easily have gotten out if it just moved to the right as the complex has lots of wide open spaces. I just opened the window for the poor fellow and it flew to freedom. God bless.
