Hi everybody,
My name is Dana Pommet and my wife’s name is Josephine. I was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in 1942, and except for a tour in the Navy, lived there for most of my life. I retired to Delray Beach, Florida in December 2000. We love to travel and photography goes hand and hand with that. I went digital about 5 years ago and started posting November 22, 2008. I have met so many wonderful people on RR and that makes this whole process so much more interesting than just posting photos. Thanks for all the comments and keep them coming.
Update  January 2012: After hiding and denying my mild Dyslexia, for most of my professional life, and now fighting with its advancement – I want to thank you all for putting up with my poor typing skills and spelling problems. I know that my spell checker hates me and I now depend completely on audio books rather then actually reading printed books.  Life marches on!  Â

I am sorry to hear that the beginnings of Dementia and Alzheimers have been diagnosed. With the exception of that, I would say that Jo's parents are entering this phase of their lives as well as anyone could hope to. That is a credit to them and to their family. It sounds like they have made preparations and been able to live independently for a long time. It's wonderful that you all came together and worked hard to find the best situation for them. Your daughters working there will make everything so much better for everyone and keep a family connection there and readily present. I wish the best for Jo's parents. I'm glad they are adjusting well. I hope all the preparations and the sale of the house go smoothly. Great shot of this cute fellow. I love squirrels. They are such fun to watch.

Dana, this is nicely captured. Looks like you are pretty busy but reading that they are in their upper nineties is amazing. They must have lived a rich and fulfilling life!

Oh yes, I know all about those squirrels, they really are clever thief's, aren't they, Dana? You got caught it on the right moment, and I wonder if you sent it away. It is good to read now the parents of Jo are so well cared for, and they have made new friends. Fantastic also that their granddaughters are close, and yes it must have been a lot of care, and work for you both, but the hard work has paid off, huh? I hope everything is okay, also with Jo and with you, my friend.

My two parents are dead, but it was the same story. We tried to keep them at home.
