Description

Surprised that Allium is the Latin word for garlic. Also surprised that it is in the same family as onions, chives, scallions, leeks as well as garlic! Photo taken in the gardens behind our local library. Zoom improves details. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

Lovely shot! I like the additional allium in the background. I've seen garlic and onion blooms that look similar to this, only smaller.

Excellent capture! Zoom a must to fully appreciate this shot. The footholds available to the bee seem awfully tenuous - I'm surprised she doesn't fall off the flower. :)

In a way I love blue flowers in a garden, and so I love this beautiful detailed Allium, with even a bee on it captured. It really is worth to zoom, for seeing how sharp you've captured it, Dana.
