I am officially done with this one - a render that went on forever (over 24 hours) through endless fits & starts - which finally stalled out and had to be abandoned. Thankfully, I discovered Vince Banja's tutorial on IDL lighting and after deleting all the ambient occlusion nodes from the scene, was able to make it through to the end in a couple of hours. There are still a few things I would like to change, but since my time is so limited, it's not going to happen!
