Description

Hi, everyone. Thanks for viewing. This project was about a month or so in the making; it is a re-make of a scene I had created while in school about a year ago, but has undergone various changes over the weeks. If you would like to see the entire evolution of this project, there's a fully featured WIP thread over in the 3D Modeling forum on Renderosity here. Please feel free to leave a reply there, if you wish. Everything in this image was created from scratch as it developed; all objects were modeled in 3dsmax, and some of them I actually made available for free download, with textures, for use in your own projects. You can find them at various resource locations where I share my models, like Turbosquid, ShareCG.com, Renderosity, and my DA profile page. The image was rendered with the Corona render engine for 3dsmax in several passes, and then color-graded in Photoshop. All the models were unwrapped in 3dsMax and 3DCoat, and then textures for each material channel were hand-painted also in 3DCoat. This is my first large-scale project since leaving school, and I have to say it was extremely fun, as well as a great learning experience. Thank you very much for looking, and any feedback is most welcome.

Thank you very much. It was a lot of fun, but the journey was worth it in the end. It started out as a much different scene, but as things progressed, it became something much more intimate and emotional for me personally. I appreciate the feeback.

Absolutely brilliant! You must have a killer machine as you can handle so much detail in one scene. The amount of woodchip is amazing.

Thanks! I think the way the instancing was handled in the viewport really saved a lot of memory here, and allowed me to work with so many things in view. The CPU is only off the shelf quad i7.
