A cycad I presume, captured 6/4/14, early morn, somewhere around the neighborhood.

A strong warm light! I like how it turns the greens on, as if they are glowing by their own...

I haven't been reading the comments today, I just forgot! But I read the above, and I'm glad people agree that this is a stunner. And I'm glad you have lots of full views---this blooms, full view. The shot's a fountain, and the fine detail of the individual leaves makes a series of beautiful 'feathers'. The green lines in each leaf are very clear. And your light and dark, throughout, are crystalline as well. Seductive indeed (from your description): They're a big peacock's tail, putting on their best show for us, to lure us in. Often, you compose shots with angles and counterpoint with the frame, etc; but here you're using a very strong central composition: The central stalk is in the center of the shot, the fronds fan out equally in both directions, they reach the upper corners in nearly symmetrical fashion, etc. It's beautiful and luminous. And the light on the outer edges of the fronds is jewel-like. Another plant beauty from you, Harry. I realize I haven't fav'd anything yet---just an oversight, as I'm totally wound up in the images. But really, in my sessions here your whole gallery is a fav. So I'll fav this, but also know that the previous ones were wonderful too. Sometimes I just forget the whole fav thing. I don't mean to, believe me.
